What is the Archive?

This archive focuses upon the experiences of those who lived or worked at the Royal Albert Hospital, Lancaster - a large Victorian long stay hospital for people with learning difficulties.

In the records of this archive you will find:

• Summaries and transcripts of oral history interviews carried out with former residents and staff;
• Personal and official photographs and documents
• Selected audio and video clips of interviews
• Background information on aspects of Royal Albert life
